ICE CASTLES - NEW HAMPSHIRE
The shoot and concept were created by Rachel Peters Photography and shot on medium format film in both Lincoln, New Hampshire USA & Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada
The combination of the the jewel tones with the light blue of the ice castles was a must. The jewel tones reminded me of the structures made of ice. The water color used as inspiration in the invitations and the quote were like melting ice, into water. We combined the earrings from The Wedding Place, made of light blue crystal to match the ice castles.
The fox coat is a vintage coat from Milk & Amber Vintage Shop. It was originally bought & created by a shop on Prince Edward Island from many years ago called “Island Furriers” created from island fox fur. The inside of the coat is the same color as the ice castles and it seemed to suit the theme well.
The dress is from The Wedding Place located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The softness of the material and the color, with the gold shapes created some inspiration for Kim Roach Design for the envelope liners for the invitations and rsvp's as well as the hand lettering on the quote poster.
The engagement Ring is a Forever Mark Canadian Made Diamond provided by Nortons Jewellers. “This diamond carries a promise that it is beautiful, rare and responsibly-sourced – perfectly symbolizing the enduring beauty, integrity and uniqueness of the woman who is simply your everything.” & “Forevermark makes a promise of our own: that each of our diamonds is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced” - Forever Mark
What does love look like? The words by Nayyirah Waheed are the inspiration to this shoot. This combined with the beauty and clarity of the Ice Castles in New Hampshire created a whirlwind of ideas within me.
She asked ' you are in love what does love look to which i replied like everything i've ever lost come back to me '
The gold tones of the shoot worked well the fur coat, dress, and jewellery. We decided to pull that tone throughout the shoot with the paper products and cakes. It created a warmth surrounding the ice castle structures.
